Defensive tackle Josh Allison out of Lake Orion, Mich. holds one scholarship offer from Minnesota. The 6-foot-2, 260-pounder is getting a lot of other interest primarily from the Big Ten and has even named three schools that are standing out for his services.
"Besides Minnesota, I'm getting mail from Penn State, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Illinois, Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana and others," he said. "I'd say at the moment I'm favoring Penn State, Minnesota and Northwestern. Those are the big three schools for me because I like they way the programs are run, they are solid teams and have good coaching staffs.
"I'd say Penn State may lead slightly more because I grew up a fan of them. I love watching their games on TV. I think that could definitely play a factor in my decision."
The all-metro and all-county lineman is looking for a few things out of his future home.
"I don't completely know what I want," he said. "I am looking to get a good education and I'm going to pay attention to see how their football team has done the past few years because I want to join a winner. I also want the coaches to be good and be relatively close to home so that my parents can watch me play."
Last season Allison registered an astounding 108 tackles, 32 for loss and 26 sacks.
"I think my best attributes on the field are my speed and quickness off the ball," he explained. "I also feel that I have very good awareness for a lineman."
In June, Allison hopes to attend camps at Penn State, Michigan State and Northwestern. He'll be at the NIKE Camp at Penn State this weekend hoping to earn an offer.
