Three have offered Griffin

Jacksonville (Fla.) Providence safety Lynn Griffin has had a successful spring. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound defensive back has racked up a trio of offers.
"I have offers right now from UConn, Southern Miss, and Troy," Griffin said. "Southern Miss was the first school to offer me. It was great to get that first offer. All my hard work had paid off. I am just looking forward to getting more of them."

At this stage of his recruitment, Griffin said he has been researching the trio of offers he has received.
"I am liking what I am seeing," Griffin said. "Southern Miss, I just like their style of football and that they are real aggressive on defense. I like to make contact. Also, talking with Coach (Dan) Disch, he is a pretty cool guy. I talked to him last night about the program. It is a good program and close to home. I've talked to Troy a little bit and it is also close to home. They have a good program and they do a good job of putting players into the league, I like that a lot. Connecticut is just big-time football, so that stands out."
In addition to his offers, Griffin said that Duke, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Georgia Tech, Northwestern, and others are showing him interest. This summer he plans to attend a few camps including Central Florida, Duke, and Louisville. He is also interested in visiting Southern Miss in order to get to know the head coach and see how the program operates.
Griffin, who has no intention of committing early, said that when the time comes for him to decide he would prefer to remain in the Southeast, close to the Sunshine State.
"I want to stay pretty close to home," Griffin said. "I want to be near my family in case something happens so I can come home quick."
Providence wraps up their spring on Thursday when they square off against Jacksonville (Fla.) Ribault.
