Three favorites for Pippins

Marcellus Pippins has three favorites and the El Cerrito, Calif., cornerback is trying to schedule some official visits.
Utah, Washington State and UCLA are the frontrunners for the 5-foot-10, 175-pound three-star cornerback but one program is not on top until he can get out to the campuses and see them for himself.

"(Utah) was talking about me coming up their and playing," Pippins said. "They want me to watch some of their games and they've been sending me lots of letters.
"It's been the same with Washington State and UCLA. Most of the letters are coming from them but I still have to see when I want to go."
That could be the tricky part.
Because of his schedule and whether or not El Cerrito makes the playoffs, Pippins might take one or two visits during the season and then wait until after to take the remaining few.
A decision might not come until later in the recruiting process because Pippins wants to see all his favorites before deciding on a school.
In total, the El Cerrito standout lists offers from San Diego State, UCLA, UNLV, Utah, Utah State and Washington State.
"I can't commit somewhere if I don't know much about the school," Pippins said. "I don't want to commit without seeing the schools. When I go out there I'll see the school and I'll know when I want to make my decision.
"I don't know about a commitment yet. When I know I'll just make it then or I can wait until later on when I can really sit down and figure out where I want to go."
