Threat has two more visits on tap

Tre Threat has plenty of time before he needs to make a decision, and he intends to bide it. A 2016 prospect, the Spanish Fort (Ala.) High School linebacker's offer list will grow as his junior season progresses. His opinions will evolve and his favorites will develop.

For now, though, Threat has little substantial news to report. He has five scholarship offers, and a number of programs starting to get involved.
"A bunch of new schools are starting to recruit me now," Threat said. "You go, Penn State, Virginia, Auburn, Georgia and Alabama. Those are mainly the schools that are talking to me right now."
Threat has camped at South Alabama and UAB over the summer. And while the list of campus visits in his rearview ends there, there are other plans on the horizon. Threat may be taking his time with his recruitment, but it doesn't mean he's done traveling for the offseason.
"I think I'm going to check out two schools before the season starts," Threat said "I'm probably going to go to Ole Miss and Mississippi State and then focus on my season after that.
Threat says he has no plans to commit early and will wait until, at the very least, his senior year. At the same time, though, he has already started to build a checklist for his eventual decision. Call it a long-term plan.
"The most important thing is my education," Threat said. "School comes first. Then, the second-most important is the environment. The third thing is how well I get along with the coaches and the players. The fourth thing is the sports - are they good at football?"
