Thompson talks about commit

Rivals.com was able to get a few moments with the newest USC Trojan four-star tight end Dale Thompson (6-4, 240, 4.6) from Corona (Calif.) Santiago. He confirmed to Rivals.com that he indeed committed to USC.
“I don’t think there is a better place to play football and attend college at this time than USC,” Thompson said. “USC has a great coaching staff and I will be part of a great group of recruits coming in.”

Thompson is ripping up as a senior. He had 25 catches for 450 yards and eight touchdowns. The talented Thompson even has a rushing touchdown.
USC gets the complete tight end in Thompson. A year ago Thompson was playing offensive tackle for Santiago because he had a cast on his arm.
Thompson didn’t sulk, he was just glad to play football. He made lemonade out lemons and became a devastating blocker.
Hence USC gets the complete tight end and a player who still has room to grow as a football player.
Thompson chose USC over offers from UCLA, Arizona State, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Colorado, and Michigan.
USC gets a player who is a member of the Rivals.com top 100 team and he is ranked the 86th prospect at any position in the nation. Rivals.com ranks Thompson as a the nation’s number two tight end prospect.
Thompson rated by Rivals.com as the state of California’s number 15 prospect at any position and he was the selected to Rivals.com’s Super West team as the western region’s number 19 prospect at any position.
