Thompson still waiting on first offer

Dallas (Texas) Hillcrest linebacker Earl Thompson believed he had a scholarship offer, but his mother thinks otherwise.
“A lot of schools tell you ‘We have a place for you’ when you talk to them,” Thompson’s mother Sheila said. “K-State said they had a spot for him and so did Texas A&M. But I would think if they were offering a scholarship I would know it if anyone would.”

The 6-foot-1, 207 pound Thompson has several schools expressing interest at this early point, but no written scholarship offers have been extended.
“Kansas, SMU, Oklahoma State, Kansas State and Texas A&M are the schools that showed the most interest earlier on.”
Thompson is working hard this summer on getting bigger and having a good senior campaign.
“He is working hard this summer in the weight room to get better. Earl knows he needs to have a good senior season if he wants to have schools coming after him hard. It will happen if he works hard.”
