Thompson set to announce choice

Warminster (Pa.) Archbishop Wood Catholic tight end Colin Thompson has spent the last several months talking to coaches, visiting schools and comparing all the different programs that have been recruiting him.
Now he's ready to make his choice.

Actually, he's already made it. All that's left to do is to go public with where he will be spending his college years.
The 6-foot-5, 255-pound tight end has not only made his decision, he has informed the coaches at the school he will end up at. On Thursday just after noon he will go public with his choice at a press conference to be held at his school auditorium.
He had significantly narrowed his options prior to his decision but he isn't ready to talk about what schools he was choosing from.
"I'm not making that public yet. I just feel it wouldn't be fair to schools," Thompson said. "I did get it down to three schools.
"I got it down to the schools I thought I would be most comfortable at just going to school, the places I'd be most comfortable playing football, and the places where I really loved the coaches. All three coaching staffs were impressive. I got it down to three schools out of the 21 that have offered."
Thompson said he visited eight or nine schools over the course of the recruiting process.
Once he goes public with his choice the recruiting process will be over.
"I'm done with everything once I commit," he said. "Not that I want to get it over with but I do want to move on and focus on winning a state title."
