Thompson ready to narrow down the field

Prosper, Texas tight end Taylor Thompson has been building quite the list of scholarship offers over the last few months and he's preparing to narrow down his list.
The 6-foot-6, 231-pounder has picked up offers from the likes of Duke, Louisville, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Purdue, South Carolina, Stanford, SMU, UCLA and Vanderbilt among many others. Thompson says that while schools like Oklahoma State and SMU are recruiting very hard, he's not naming favorites for the next few weeks.

"I'm going to narrow things down when I get back from this Air It Out camp," Thompson said about cutting his list of school choices. "I'm going to look at academics, the football program, the school itself and where it's located. I'll sit down with my dad and then we'll narrow that down."
Though he's about to start shaving his list, he says there aren't any school that he knows will for sure be on his list of final choices. He then would like to pick from his narrowed list of schools and make a commitment before August.
Even with several offers, there are plenty of schools that Thompson says have yet to offer in writing, but could be soon.
"A few of the schools have told me about offering," Thompson said. "Those are Texas Tech, Baylor, Virginia and some others."
So far, Thompson has participated in the NIKE Training Camp in Boulder, Colo., and then also Colorado camp in Boulder as well. After the latest Air It Out event, Thompson doesn't see himself going to any others before the summer comes to a close.
