Thompson raves about visit

Shurod Thompson took his first official visit and it was a memorable one.
The four-star defensive back from Brentwood (Calif.) Liberty said he had a great experience at Oregon State this past weekend and it's definitely a place he could see himself playing college football.

"I loved it as soon as I got off the plane because the weather woke me up," Thompson said. "The weather is a perfect fit for me and I feel like Oregon State is a program I can definitely see myself playing for especially because my cousin is Xavier Crawford."
Thompson spent a good deal of time with Crawford during his visit to Corvallis so that could be a big selling point for the Beavers.
Thompson, who had previously been committed to Cal, also said he loved talking with the coaches and felt they were being genuine with him.
That will be an important factor as he goes through other official visits and considers which program fits him best.
"(Crawford) showed me a great time and most of all what the coaches were telling me wasn't a lie because my cousin told me the truth," Thompson said.
"Every coach made me feel at home including position coaches that weren't my position. I also love how coach (Gary) Andersen treats his players and what he has done with the program so far. He's a great guy and I'll love to play for him."
The Oregon State visit went well but Thompson has some other trips to take before making a decision.
The Northern California standout said he is working on a visit to Utah when it hosts Cal or Arizona State and he also wants to see San Diego State soon.
