Thompson is a sleeper to watch

Recruiting is starting to pick up for Whiteville, N.C. safety Faquonn Thompson. However, the 6-foot-0, 180-pounder is still relatively under the radar at this stage.
"He's getting a lot of interest, most letters from Maryland and a few other schools," Whiteville head coach Luke Little said. "We had a coaching change here and he fell off the radar after that.

"Nobody has taken him to combines and his film has just gotten out in two years."
Thompson was all-conference as a freshman and was a 1,000-yard rusher as a sophomore. According to his coach he'll be making the transition back to defensive back his senior year.
"He has played running back, but he's moving back to defensive back and he's a defensive back in college," he said. "He reminds me a lot of a bigger safety.
"He sticks out cause of his size and his athletic ability. I've had three defensive backs play Division I ball and at times he's better than all of them, he's a bigger kid."
