Thompson has two favorites

Tedric Thompson has two frontrunners and the Valencia, Calif., three-star safety is looking to take visits.
The 6-foot-1, 203-pound prospect will visit Fresno State the weekend of Dec. 14 and then he's looking to take a trip to Minnesota sometime in January.

Those two programs have emerged as favorites for Thompson, who said he'd also like to take trips to Washington State and Hawaii but he's not sure when those could get scheduled.
"With Fresno State, I like the idea of staying in California and I like what they do with their defense," Thompson said. "They have a very good defense and I like the defensive backs coach.
"Minnesota is in the Big Ten and that's a great conference. They play a lot of big schools around the country and talking to the coach who came in for an in-home visit, they care a lot about me academic-wise."
Thompson, who also lists offers from Colorado and UNLV, said there is no chance he will make his pledge until he takes his trips.
That means the Valencia standout probably won't finalize anything until after his Fresno State trip in a couple weeks and more than likely his Minnesota trip in January.
There is a good possibility Thompson could wait to decide until he takes his other trips to Washington State and Hawaii, too, but the three-star said those first two trips are especially important.
"I'm for sure not going to commit anywhere until I take some official visits," Thompson said.
