Thompson favors two programs

Shurod Thompson said this past weekend that he's still interested in a lot of programs but that USC is his leader followed by Arizona State.
That matches up perfectly with Pittsburg, Calif., teammate Jordan Parker and that's important because the two plan to attend the same college. They're that close and so that will be a big factor as their recruitments continue.

Thompson has already been to USC twice and even though the Trojans are loaded in the secondary it won't scare off the four-star recruit.
"It's a very good program," Thompson said. "The alumni stay around and they help the athletes and I really SC, it was my second time visiting there.
"They have a lot of guys in the 2015 class. They're loaded. A lot of guys signed but I'm willing to compete and show coaches I'm ready to play in college."
Arizona State holds the second position and since the Sun Devils offered early on Thompson has gotten a good feel for that program. He has a strong relationship with assistant coach Chris Ball and that could play a factor moving forward.
"Arizona State offered me early and I really like coach Ball," Thompson said. "I like it out there. I visited on an unofficial and they offered me. I like ASU."
Thompson, rated seventh at safety and No. 75 overall by Rivals.com, has not visited UCLA yet but really likes defensive backs coach Demetrice Martin.
"UCLA has a lot of DBs as well but I'm very open with them," Thompson said. "I like coach Martin a lot. He recruits me hard. He keeps in contact with me and he wants me to compete."
A trip to Oregon is planned for Thompson and Parker soon. That is definitely a program that intrigues both of them and an offer that the four-star safety definitely wants.
"It's beautiful," Thompson said. "What I've seen from the Internet and TV it's beautiful. I'm looking forward to meeting the coaches, seeing what the program is about and I'm ready to get started with them. I really like them."
Thompson finished with 51 tackles and three interceptions in his junior season.
