Thompson close to decision

Four-star defensive back Shurod Thompson recently took his first official visit to Oregon State and he had a great time with the coaching staff and also loved the environment in Corvallis. The Brentwood (Calif.) Liberty standout was supposed to book official trips to Utah and San Diego State but now says his recruitment might be wrapping up.

WHAT'S NEXT?: Thompson has been sidelined because of transfer rules and Brentwood Liberty has a bye this weekend but the following Friday they're back on the field and so is Thompson. The four-star said he plans to make a decision around that time and the former Cal commit looks to have Oregon State way out in front.
RIVALS' REACTION: It only makes sense to think that Thompson favors Oregon State in a big way. The four-star has essentially cancelled plans to take trips to Utah and San Diego State and a decision could be coming in the next couple weeks. Thompson has raved about his experience in Corvallis and the Beavers definitely have the edge in his recruitment leading up to his decision.
