Thomas will take final look around

MIAMI -- Keir Thomas spent his Saturday night playing linebacker for Miami Central High School. His massive frame fills the position well, and he certainly had an impact on the contest. Still, his time in the role is limited.

Thomas, who added 10 pounds of muscle over the summer, will likely play defensive end when he arrives at Florida State, to which he is committed. That said, a few months remain between now and his projected campus arrival date of January 2015.
As things stand, Thomas intends to graduate from Central a semester early so he can join FSU for spring football. Well, FSU or some other college of his choosing should things change along the way.
"I'm going to take all my visits and look around before I make my final, final decision in December," Thomas said. "I just want to see what else is out there."

WHAT'S NEXT?: Thomas says he plans to visit Oklahoma, Arkansas, South Carolina and Auburn in addition to an Florida State. He is yet to finalize dates for such trips.
IN HIS WORDS: "They already know I'm going to take some visits and look around." Thomas said on Saturday. "I told them that a long time ago. I just talk to Coach [Tim] Brewster. We have that kind of relationship. We have a great relationship."
."
RIVALS' REACTION: Florida State remains the most likely landing spot for Thomas, who seems to just want to soak up the recruiting experience at this juncture. Funny things can happen on campus visits, though, so there's no telling what could transpire later this fall. That said, it would be at least partially surprising if the Miami Central standout actually signed with another program.
