MORE: Midwest storylines: Big Ten must protect its turf
After picking up his first offer in December from Purdue, Indianapolis (Ind.) Cathedral offensive lineman Jared Thomas has added for more, including one from Boston College on Tuesday.

"I have been talking to them since the middle of the football season," Thomas said of Boston College. "We have been talking weekly and have built a great relationship. I kind of got a feel for how they do things athletically. Academically, that is something I could probably do a little more research on and see for myself when I get there."
Getting out to Boston College is a priority for Thomas now, and he will look to visit as soon as his schedule allows.
"I think I am going to talk to my head coach and my parents and probably arrange something in the springtime," Thomas said. "That is a time when I am not doing sports and mainly just training."
Thomas expects to be busy visiting schools this spring and summer. His winter sports schedule has allowed him to attend just one junior day thus far, but that trip yielded another Big Ten offer for the 6-foot-4, 255-pound lineman.
"I have only been to Indiana's junior day this past Sunday, and they offered me as well. They offered me at the basketball game," Thomas said. "It was my first official junior day where I was able to see how things are done at IU. Then, to see the basketball game was fun and I enjoyed myself."
The junior day visit also gave Thomas a chance to interact and connect with Indiana offensive line coach Greg Frey.
"He was the guy who was giving us our tours," Thomas said. "I got to talk to him a little bit when they had offered me. They see me as an inside guy, like all the other schools do. He is a good coach like all these other coaches that I've talked to."
A third Big Ten school - Northwestern - offered Thomas back in January, and has piqued the Indianapolis native's interest.
"The thing that interests me the most about them is the academic program," Thomas said. "They are strong in what I want to major in in college, which is Broadcasting and Journalism. Then, of course, their football program is on the rise, so that is a plus too. I was real excited about getting that offer just because of how stellar they are in academics and athletics as well."
The four offers from BCS schools are joined by a fifth one from Toledo. Thomas said those are the schools he has the most interaction with at this stage of the process.
