Thomas schedules Boston College visit

Three-star Indianapolis (Ind.) Cathedral offensive guard Jared Thomas just wrapped up his junior basketball season and now is ready to jump into college recruiting visits.
"My first spring ball visit will be next Friday and Saturday," Thomas reported. "I am going over to Boston College. We just set that up (Tuesday)."

Boston College is one of nine schools that have offered the 6-foot-4, 255-pound Thomas. Their offer went out in early February and the March 28-29 visit will be his first to the campus.
"I know the football side of things and have been introduced to that by Coach (Justin) Frye," Thomas said. "I'm just looking forward to see what the academic support is like and what areas they are strong in and are they strong in the major I want to go in to."
Thomas' parents and brother will be joining him on the visit to Boston College. It will likely be the first in a series of spring visits for the three-star lineman.
"Wake Forest, I am probably looking to go there in mid-April or early April," Thomas said. "Then, I will try to plug in the local ones like Northwestern and IU whenever we can because those are easier trips to make."
Indiana is the only school Thomas has already visited. He attended their camp last summer as well as a junior day earlier this winter.
Without having seen the vast majority of the schools that have offered, these visits, in many ways, represent the initial steps of the evaluation process for Thomas.
"By no means am I going to make a quick decision," Thomas said. "Part of the decision process is to go out and see what schools have to offer."
The nine schools that have offered Thomas are Boston College, Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, James Madison, Northwestern, Purdue, Toledo and Wake Forest.
