Thomas moves Miami up after offer
Khaylan Thomas had not been in much contact with Miami so when he talked with assistant coach Micheal Barrow recently and was offered by the Hurricanes he was surprised by the news.

At first, the Etiwanda, Calif., linebacker was not sure he heard Barrow correctly and once it sunk in Thomas was definitely excited about the new offer.
"I was talking to the coach (Friday) and we were talking about the school and he told me that I had an offer from them," Thomas said.
"I didn't really know what he was talking about and he told me right there and I was really excited about it."
Arizona, Arizona State and UCLA remain the favorites for Thomas, who has shined at multiple events this offseason and continues to land serious interest.
Those three Pac-12 teams still are the frontrunners but Thomas said Miami moves up for him and so does Oregon State after the Beavers offered as well.
Getting an offer from the Hurricanes is definitely a big deal.
"That's a big one for me," Thomas said of the Hurricanes. "I really didn't expect it. When it happened, I was shocked. I think it's a really good offer.
"They'll be in my top group. I need to take the time to get to know them a little bit more and then go from there."
So far, Thomas has been offered by Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Fresno State, Miami, Nebraska, Oregon State, Utah and Washington State.
Last weekend, the Etiwanda standout attended the UCLA spring game.
