Thomas misses Big Ten camp

Chicago (Ill.) Morgan Park defensive back Marcus Thomas has attended football camps at Illinois and Iowa. He had planned to also work out at Wisconsin's camp on Monday, but a family emergency prevented that from happening.
"I just got home from the hospital," Thomas said on Monday night. "So I didn't get to Wisconsin.

"My little brother fell down the stairs and stopped breathing for a minute. So we spent the day at the hospital. But he's O.K. now. He's still in the hospital, but he's O.K."
Thomas let the Badgers know he wasn't coming to their camp.
"I told coach (Randall) McCray I couldn't make it because of a family emergency," Thomas said. "I really wanted to go. Most likely I'll still get there sometime. I want to see the campus."
Thomas still plans to attend Michigan State's camp in July.
The 5-foot-11 and 157-pound Thomas says Illinois, Purdue, Northern Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa are his top five choices and the first three have offered a scholarship.
