Thomas makes the switch from red to orange

Syracuse picked up a big verbal commitment earlier today when Shamarko Thomas pledged to the Orangemen. Thomas, from Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes High School, had previously been committed to Louisville.
"I visited the visited them last weekend," Thomas said. "I committed this morning. I like the coaching staff. They are real with me and I like the players. I just had fun up there. It's all over.

Syracuse has a new coach in Doug Marrone and Marrone won over Thomas.
"Marrone is a great man. He tells the truth and stays real to me."
With the decision made today to switch from the Cardinals to the Orangemen Thomas had to make the call to Louisville.
"It was hard to tell Louisville no but I realized they were not the right fit for me. This feels good. No this feels great to be done. I can relax, keep grades up and train."
Thomas, 5-11 and 196 pounds, plays cornerback. He recorded 110 tackles and six interceptions this season as a senior.
