Thomas lands two more big offers

Class of 2017 Detroit (Mich.) King cornerback Ambry Thomas saw his offer list grow to 13 offers with two, big additions on Wednesday.
The Missouri Tigers kicked off Thomas' big day by extending an offer while he was in school on Wednesday.

"I didn't know I was getting an offer, but I saw them in the building," Thomas said. "I went in the weight room and came back out and one of my coaches told me I had the offer."
Defensive line coach Craig Kuligowski was the Missouri assistant who visited Thomas' school on Wednesday. The rising junior does not know much about the Tigers, but plans to check them out further in the coming months.
"I'm making a trip this summer and will be checking them out," Thomas said.
The offer from Missouri was followed later on Wednesday from a school Thomas has a little more familiarity with - the Ohio State Buckeyes.
"It meant a lot to know that the school that just won the National Championship is interested in me," Thomas said. "Coach (Kerry) Coombs, I just like the way he operates and I'm interested in (Ohio State) a lot."
Thomas' as yet unscheduled summer trip is expected to include stops at Missouri and Ohio State as well as LSU, Notre Dame and Tennessee. With almost two years until he will sign a letter of intent, Thomas' recruitment is still in its infancy.
"I'm just taking my time," he said. "I honestly don't know what I really want to do yet, so I am just going with the flow. Location is not important to me. The most important thing to me is the relationship I build with the coach."
The 5-foot-11, 160-pound Thomas played both ways for Detroit King as a sophomore but is primarily being recruited as a cornerback, where he recorded six interceptions last fall.
