Thomas lands first offer

Tallahassee (Fla.) Godby cornerback Lester Thomas landed his first offer on Wednesday.
"I came from making up a math test today and as guys were leaving the weight room they told me I had some letters," Thomas said. "I looked and opened them up, the letters from FIU, and it said they were verbally offering me.
"I got a few different letters, like eight letters, from all of the coaches at FIU," Thomas added.

The 5-foot-10, 165-pound defensive back has yet to have the opportunity to catch up with Mario Cristobal and his staff.
"I haven't spoken to them yet," Thomas said. "I intended to contact them and let them know I got the letters but I got caught up and didn't have time."
Thomas doesn't know a great deal about the Golden Panthers at this stage.
"I don't know much about them," Thomas said. "I plan to look a little more into them.
"I plan to try and visit them," Thomas added. "I plan to look further into them."
At this time, Wilson has no visit plans to any colleges.
Thomas is also drawing interest from Central Florida, Florida Atlantic, South Alabama, South Florida, and Tennessee.
