"The coaches had been paying me a lot of attention the whole time I was there, but when it came time for my meeting with coach Richt, I was a little surprised by what he told me," Thomas said. "He told me that they could really use me and he wanted me to be a part of their team and that he was offering me a full scholarship. They had been recruiting me for a while, but I was shocked when they offered."
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Thomas runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds. Thomas was named second team All-State and first team All-Region as a junior.
"I had a really good time at the game this weekend up in Athens," Thomas said. "It's a real fun atmosphere there and the people are real nice. I am going to the Georgia Tech game this weekend for the Connecticut game. I am looking forward to going up there and seeing how it compares to Georgia."
Thomas is ranked as the No. 28 player in the Peach State and is ranked as the No. 57 wide receiver in the nation by Rivals.com.
"Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Clemson and Auburn would be my top five right now," Thomas said. "Georgia and Georgia Tech would probably be my top two right now. I like the fact that they are close to home and they have a done a good job of recruiting me."
As a junior Thomas caught approximately 30 passes for 600 yards. He projects as a full-qualifier with a 3.0 GPA and 1275 SAT score.
