Thomas excited about decision

Dallas (Texas) South Oak Cliff three-star receiver J.F. Thomas has had a good idea about where he would likely choose to go to play his college football, but he waited.
The 6-foot-3, 171-pound wide receiver has held offers from TCU, Arkansas State, Colorado State, Lamar, Maryland, and SMU, and was receiving interest from North Texas and Texas. He knew staying close to home was important and he knew he pretty much had his choices narrowed down to Maryland and TCU. It is safe to say he had an idea he was going to be a Horned Frog.

"I've been thinking about it for a long time. For like four months," Thomas said.
About two weeks ago he decided it was time to make the decision and the reaction from the TCU coaching staff was one of excitement. His future coaches were not the only ones excited, Thomas was just as excited himself about his future roll in the TCU offense.
"They throw the ball a lot and they're real fast in what they are doing," Thomas said. "They're real good."
Thomas says he is currently firm in his commitment, but that has not stopped the pursuit of a few schools. North Texas has invited him to campus, and recently he received an invitation to the Texas spring game.
"I was supposed to have one this Saturday but I didn't go to it," Thomas said. "It was to Texas."
Thomas has not had a chance to reach out to other members of the Horned Frogs 2015 recruiting class, but he is looking forward to playing with friend Ty Barrett and Emanuel Porter who signed in 2014 class. He is also glad to have his decision made.
"It felt real good," Thomas said.
As a junior in 2013, Thomas recorded 38 receptions for 707 yards and 15 touchdowns on his way to first-team all-district honors.
