Thomas enjoys latest visit

Washington, Pa. running back Travis Thomas didn't feel at home at Northwestern when he visited a weekend ago. How about his latest trip to the Big Ten?
"I really liked Iowa, they rolled out the red carpet for me and all the recruits just like the other schools," said the 6-foot-1, 200-pounder. "They showed me around, showed me how I'd fit in their offense and I got along well with the players and coaches. I was hosted by freshman quarterback Jason Manson and he and the rest of the players were nice."

Thomas, who has already visited Purdue, Notre Dame and Northwestern, is now down to four schools.
"Boston College is my last trip and that's for Dec. 6," he said. "Northwestern is out so it's Purdue, Iowa, Notre Dame and BC. I know in my head what I like about each of them and after I finish my visits, I'll sit down and talk things over with my family."
So what does the talented tailback want?
"Good academics, a good business school, a chance to play and someplace where I feel comfortable," he said. "It won't matter at all to me who they have at running back or how many commitments they already have. I'll know what I like."
Thomas, who rushed for 1,200 yards and 18 touchdowns during his senior year, claims no leader. He wants to make a decision by Christmas.
