Thomas adds offers, staying open

Despite being busy with school, track, and spring football, running back Devin Thomas has had plenty of early success with recruiting.
Thomas, the 5-foot-10, 185-pounder, had a successful junior season that included a city record 487 rushing yards in one game. He added early offers from Arkansas, Duke, and Texas A&M. Now, New Mexico State, Missouri, and Stanford have all made their offers.

There was an early list of favorites but the new offers have opened things back up.
"Well, I was really thinking about just choosing between Texas A&M and Arkansas, but with Stanford and Missouri offering, I'm thinking about waiting a while," Thomas said.
Arkansas, Missouri, Stanford, and Texas A&M are definitely high on Thomas' list.
"I like A&M because they have offer a good education and a good program," Thomas said. "I want to make sure I get a good education in case football doesn't take me where I want to go. With Arkansas, I feel like I can get the same thing.
"I know Stanford offers a good education. Their head coach came to one of my practice. That's a big plus. I know it's not too often a head coach comes to see somebody practice."
Northwestern and Minnesota are two other schools that have yet to offer, but are showing Thomas interest. With track over, he's starting to think about what visits he'll take this summer.
"Now it's just spring football for me with track being done and this summer, I think I'm going to go visit Oklahoma State," Thomas said. "I might go with my dad out to San Francisco. If I go with him, I might use that trip to go see Stanford."
