School: Westlake, Calif.

Position: Defensive End/Wide Receiver/Tight End
Size and Speed: Stuart stands 6-foot-4, weighs 220 pounds and runs the 40 in 4.6.
Honors: Stuart was the Maramonte League Player of the Year as a junior. He was also selected first-team all-state underclassman, first-team all-county, and first-team all-league as a junior.
Statistics: Stuart had a stellar junior season on both sides of the ball from his defensive end and wide receiver spot. On defense, Stuart accounted for 68 tackles, 16 ½ sacks, 16 pass breakups, seven tackles for loss, three caused fumbles and two forced fumbles.
Favorite Colleges: Stuart is hearing from everybody. Colorado, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, USC, Washington, Washington State and Arizona State have already spoken with the two-way standout from Westlake.
Skinny: Stuart brings a lot of athletic ability and quickness to the table. He could play on either side of the ball on the D-I level. In some systems Stuart could play slot on offense, but many others feel that he may better suited to play on the defensive side of the football.
“Michael is very athletic for a big guy and he has extremely gifted hands,” Westlake head coach Jim Benkert said. “He has the talent to play defensive line, slot-back or tight end on the collegiate level.”
Stuart was told by the old staff at UCLA that he reminds them of former Bruin great Danny Farmer. On the defensive side of the ball Stuart is very explosive off the edge.
Does Stuart have an early favorite school?
“If I had to name a favorite school right now they would be Colorado and Oregon,” Stuart said. “I’m very open regarding colleges at this time.”
What is Stuart looking for in a school?
“I want to attend a school with a good atmosphere,” Stuart said. “I also want to be part of an outstanding athletic program, not just the football team, but the whole athletic program.”
