Third offer for Gulliver Prep standout

Among the many major college prospects and Miami (Fla.) Gulliver Prep, the latest to receive significant recruiting interest is Daniel Rodriguez. The 5-foot-10 wide receiver is up to three offers with more potential offers waiting in the wings, particularly after some strong camp performances.
"I just got back about a week ago from Stanford and participated in a camp," Rodriguez said. "I was really impressed with Stanford. It was real nice and they have a lot to offer. I think I'm real close to an offer from Stanford. Even before the camp I think I had a good chance. All the coaches knew who I was. I had a good relationship with the coaches and I worked my tail off at the camp and made a good impression with Coach Harbaugh."

The Stanford interest is definitely mutual with the south Florida wideout.
"It's definitely a big interest of mine," he said. "I'm not saying I would do anything if they offered but it would be a good option. It's definitely one of my top schools."
Rodriguez currently holds offers from Army, Central Michigan and Northern Illinois and has camped at Northern Illinois and Tulane along with Stanford. Along with his three offers and Stanford, Rodriguez's list of interested programs certainly holds a national flavor to it.
"I'm real close with Rutgers, Kansas State, UCF and of course Stanford," he said. "There's a bunch of others. "
Rodriguez says that one of the main factors in his recruitment will be the coaching staffs.
"I'm going to be working with the coaching staff all day long so that's the main thing, just to get along with the coaches," he said. "Definitely academics, that's a big part and probably just the schools spirit and the fan support and stuff like that."
As one of several highly recruited players at the powerhouse Gulliver Prep program, Rodriguez credits much of the success of his teammates to the coaching staff.
"Those guys really work us and they're the reason we are what we're the team we are, it's because of the coaches."
For Gulliver Prep, Rodriguez lines up on the outside, in the slot, gets the ball on reverses and is effective in a number of different ways for his offense.
