Third offer a surprise for Lewis

Class of 2012 linebacker Kaiwan Lewis picked up two early verbal scholarship offers so you might imagine it would take quite a bit to catch him off guard.
His third offer did, however. The 6-foot-2, 227-pound linebacker prospect from New Jersey had been sitting on offers from South Carolina and Rutgers for a while and he has been quietly keeping track of those those programs and others have been faring in this 2010 season.

He recently picked up his third verbal offer of the recruiting process.
"I got an offer from ECU on Friday," Lewis told Rivals.com recently. "It was a surprise."
East Carolina recruits the eastern seaboard very hard, and those New Jersey is a long way from Greenville, N.C. the Pirates are used to hitting the Garden State hard for recruits.
"I'm just starting to build a relationship with them so once we get close I can see where I fit on the team."
Lewis didn't elaborate much beyond that but it seems as though East Carolina has at least a shot at this point.
Recently Lewis admitted that South Carolina has left a very positive impression on him. Though he's hesitant to use words like favorites it's clear the Gamecocks are doing very well for themselves with Lewis.
