Things tightening up for Jones

When it comes to athletic defensive prospects one of the nation's very best is Christian Jones from Winter Park Lake Howell High School in Central Florida. Jones, 6-4 and 220, is a four-star prospect and a member of the Rivals100. His team had a 16 game losing streak going into last Friday. They finally broke through with a big win over Hagarty.
"This season is going well and we finally got a win over Friday (34-28)," Jones said. "I had a few sacks and a bunch of tackles. I am playing well but I am hurt. I hurt my shoulder last week playing running back. They are moving me everywhere. I am playing defensive end and linebacker."

While nothing is set in stone Jones has two schools lined up for potential official visits. One is Notre Dame and the other is USC.
"I want to visit Notre Dame when they play USC but that's my homecoming and I don't want to miss that. I will probably go to USC for their game against UCLA.
"I probably won't visit any in-state schools for official visits because they are so close and I have been to Florida, FSU and Miami already. I will probably visit Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Rutgers or Michigan."
So far this season Jones has been to both FSU and Florida for games.
"I went to the Miami/FSU game and the Tennessee/Florida game. Right now it's pretty close between Florida State and Florida.
"They are pretty even. I really like the coaching staff at FSU. I mean I like everyone there. It's a young team and they should be real good next season.
"I really like coach (Urban) Meyer and coach (Charlie) Strong at Florida. We talk on the phone a lot. They are always winning. Who wouldn't want to be a part of that.
"I like those out of state schools too but I just don't know them as well so it's hard to say. I just want to find a place where I feel comfortable."
One team that has made a big move with Jones is Miami. He hopes to visit Coral Gables this weekend when Miami hosts the Sooners.
"I will probably go to the OU/Miami game this weekend. Miami is starting to get back in there for me and I am really starting to like them a lot.
"We'll see what happens after I take my visits."
Jones is planning on announcing his decision on National Signing Day.
