Things slow for Magnolia DT

Brookhaven, Miss., defensive lineman Jessie Bowman is one of the top playmakers in the state of Mississippi for the class of 2005. But he is not getting an abundant amount of recruiting attention.
The 6-foot-1, 305-pound Bowman runs the 40-yard dash in five seconds, has a 360-pound bench press and 595-pound squat.

“Right now I am really not getting too much interest,” Bowman said. “Ole Miss and Mississippi State call me a lot, but really that is about all. I get some letters from some other schools and stuff.”
A two-year starter, Bowman has made the all-area team each of the past two years. As a junior he also made he all-district team and was a 4A all-state selection by the Mississippi Association of Coaches, after recording 100 tackles and seven sacks.
“The schools I am looking at the hardest are Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Auburn and LSU,” Bowman said. “I would have to say that Ole Miss and Mississippi State are at the top, though. They have been showing me a lot more interest than the other two.”
Bowman plans to see Mississippi State host UAB this weekend and also plans to see the Ole Miss-Auburn game on Oct. 30.
