Things picking up for Cali corner

The last time we spoke with La Mesa (Calif.) Helix defensive back Jamar Taylor, he was focusing primarily on his season and wasn't worrying too much about recruiting. Things have definitely picked up for Taylor and he has a handful of schools he's looking at.
Taylor is one of the top corners in the state and was always one of the more under-recruited players for his ability, that we saw this year. He's a high level tlaent with the athleticism to play just about anywhere in the West in our eyes.

The talented corner earned 1st team all-league and second team all-county this past season for one of the state's top programs.
"Recruiting has picked up but I still didn't get recruited at the level I thought I would," Taylor said. "Don't get me wrong, I'm very thankful I'm being recruited at all but there are some schools that showed some early interest that I never heard from again once the season got going.
"This weekend, I'm going to visit Colorado State and then Washington State (Feb. 1). Those are probably my top schools along with Boise State. I visited Boise back in December and loved it there. They have a winning tradition, great coaches and I got along well with the guys on the team.
"I'll be playing in the SoCal Bowl next week at Cal State Fullerton and that should be good. There is going to be a lot of San Diego players in the game and I'm really excited about it.
"After the game, I'll take my visit to Washington State and then I'll have a few days before Signing Day to make my decision. I have some good schools so it's going to be tough but these trips will be good for me to help me decide."
