Things getting clear for Gastin

It appears that two prestigious programs are giving Savannah (Ga.) Country Day defensive tackle Jeremy Gastin an opportunity to take his talents down the route of a military academy.
Navy jumped out and made the first offer to the 6-foot-2, 246-pound Gastin. Air Force has now joined the mix with an offer. However, after a visit to Annapolis, things are looking good for one.

"I visited the Naval Academy last weekend and then I got the offer from Air Force," Gastin said. "I'm definitely interested in Navy though. First of all I loved the city and I also liked the whole coaching staff. I got to meet their head coach and I just liked everything about the visit."
"Air Force is a little far away for what I'm looking for, but I like their interest in me. If I had to pick today, it would be Navy."
Though other schools were talking to Gastin like Vanderiblt and Columbia, it looks like Navy will be tough to beat.
"Vanderbilt told me they weren't going to be able to offer me," Gastin said. "I was disappointed about that and Columbia is another school that has talked to me, but I don't want to go that far. Basically, I'm pretty limited to Air Force and Navy, the favorite."
Gastin is planning a January decision date.
