North Fort Myers, Fla. running back sensation Noel Devine has been under media scrutiny since his famous freshman highlight reel hit the Internet a couple of years ago. Finally, the 5-foot-8, 175-pounder is officially recruitable and has received a ton of written offers since Sept. 1. Who's in the mix and how is he handling things?
"We have a huge box of Noel's stuff," said North Fort Myers head coach James Iandoli. "All the letters and things. He's received too many offers to count, you name it and they've offered. For Noel it will come down to getting the test score and that's the focus now."
Devine has offers from Miami, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee and pretty much every other program in the Southeast as well as many others from around the country.
"It's crazy already," said Iandoli. "We haven't started talking about schools or anything yet, it's still early."
However, there is one team that has the edge over all the others at this point.
"Noel has always been a big Miami fan," said Iandoli. "So they'll be one of his favorites no doubt. I don't know how long he'll want to go through the process because he wants to focus on getting qualified."
Devine rushed for 1,933 yards and 24 touchdowns as a junior, averaging 11.17 yards-per-carry and just under 200 yards-per-game. In the final game of the season, he rushed for 398 yards and four scores on 20 carries.
