Thenarse will take one more visit

Los Angeles (Calif.) Jordan athlete Ricky Thenarse thought he might be close to making his college choice after narrowing things down to two schools. Nebraska and Fresno State are the teams to beat for Thenarse but he'll take at least one more trip in January before pulling the trigger.
Thenarse, 6-0, 175 pounds is one of the most versatile players in the West region and put up huge numbers on both sides of the ball. At running back, the athlete rushed for 1,344 yards and 10 touchdowns, caught 19 balls for 628 yards and five scores and added 153 tackles on defense.

Thenarse is playing in the CaliFlorida Bowl, which kicked off this afternoon, as an athlete and could play a number of positions but worked out with the receivers today, his college preference. We still feel safety might be his best position at the next level but the athlete said he likes to have the ball in his hands and prefers receiver over running back.
On the recruiting front, Thenarse has Nebraska, where he visited in September, and Fresno State leading and is still considering one other national power.
"I thought I might be ready to make my decision by now but I want to visit Fresno State in January," Thenarse said. "I don't remember if I'm visiting on the 6th or 13th but it's on one of those first weekends next month. It's really too close to call right now and until I take my visit to Fresno State, I really can't compare the two schools.
"I'm also hearing from USC a little and my coach talked to Pete Carroll recently and he said they're just waiting for my ACT score to improve and then they'll offer me. Right now, I'm just really focusing on having a good week here and getting ready for the game with Florida. Then I'll take my trip to Fresno State and should be ready to decide at that time."
