The Zips land Ohio speedster

Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward defensive back Seth Cunningham committed to Akron Friday.
The 6-0, 170 pound cornerback said he picked up several offers this summer, including major schools like Cincinnati, Iowa, and North Carolina.

"Really, the MAC is great football, I don't care what anybody says," Cunningham said. "Akron is on the way back up, and their new facilities are great. Talking to Coach [J.D.] Brookhart, everything just felt like home."
Though Cunningham told Rivals.com this week he intended to wait for more offers before making a decision, the visit to Akron blew him away.
"When I committed, Coach Brookhart gave me a hug," Cunningham said with a laugh. "I loved it there. The new stadium is awesome, it is right by their new dorms. The weight room and the indoor facility are top notch. It was just really nice, and it twenty minutes from home."
Cunningham is the current 200m indoor state champion in Ohio, winning is 21.85 seconds.
"The coaches said they have a lot of plans for me. They want to use me as a cornerback and use me in the slot as a receiver. I can return kicks there too. The opportunity to play both sides of the ball at Akron sounded really good to me."
Though Cunningham was just starting to blow up on the recruiting market, he said he is solid to the Zips.
