The wait continues for Houston DE

The wait continues for Ft. Bend (Texas) Hightower weakside defensive end Mark Johnson. Despite a solid senior season that saw him produce 101 tackles and a great start to a senior season, he’s yet to earn any scholarship offers. But that might be changing.
Johnson, who is 6-foot and 208 pounds, said he just received a call last week from Texas A&M and he also talked to a coach at UCLA tonight. Those are the only two teams that he’s talked to on the phone this month, but he’s still continuing to get regular mail from other teams, including Arkansas.

“We’re playing well, and I’m playing well,” Johnson said. “That’s all I can do. We beat Clements 41-0 last week and gave up only 32 yards of total offense. I played pretty good. I had six tackles for a loss. In week two, I had two sacks and like 16 tackles.”
Johnson said when he talks to the college coaches most are saying they’re keeping a close eye on him.
“The coaches from A&M told me they’d be at my games and they’re really interested in me,” Johnson said. “I know the UCLA coach has been to my games, because he left his card with my coach.”
Johnson, ranked as a two-star prospect by Rivals.com, doesn’t have a leader at this point.
