The Roadies: Michigan State Elite Camp

Another Michigan State commit, Cupp is listed at 6-foot-6 and 275 pounds. He may be a little heavier than that right now, but he carries little bad weight and has a great frame for a future Big Ten offensive lineman. Often times you will see linemen who add some bad weight in the off-season before their senior years, but Cupp has been playing catcher on his high school baseball team all spring and looked trim while still having enough bulk to battle in the trenches.
Best Hands
WR Jalen Martin, Harper Woods (Mich.) Chandler Park Academy
Martin was one of those wide receivers who had an argument as a top overall performer at Saturday's camp. The 6-foot-2, 192-pound wide out does not have the top-end speed of Chambers, but he is every bit as big with a great vertical and an outstanding pair of hands. Martin was particularly good on the deep fade, making the very difficult over-the-shoulder catch look easy.
Fastest
WR Trishton Jackson, West Bloomfield, Mich.
We were not privy to the times run in the 40-yard dash, so who actually posted the fastest of the time was unknown. Jackson, though, consistently created separation during one-on-ones and 7-on-7 play. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound wideout has had an outstanding spring. He continued that momentum on Saturday and made a strong case for an offer, despite Michigan State's already strong group of commits at the position.
Best Arm
QB Kasim Hill (2017), Baltimore (Md.) Gilman
Hill was one of three four-stars throwing at Saturday's camp, along with Michigan State commit Messiah deWeaver and Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier 2017 Sean Clifford. Hill's performance topped them all, as he spun a beautiful football throughout the course of the day. Hill is particularly competent with his deep ball, throwing it with ideal trajectory and spotting it correctly time after time.
Best in Coverage
DB Demetric Vance, Detroit (Mich.) Cass Tech
There were two guys who stood out with their coverage on Saturday - Vance and Clinton Township (Mich.) Chippewa Valley's Stefan Claiborne. I'm giving Vance the nod, though, because as a safety his ability to stick with top wide receivers in man coverage is very impressive. The 6-foot-3, 196-pound Michigan State commit has great change of direction ability and he plays disciplined and with great field awareness.
Underclassman Achievement
WR Hunter Rison (2017), Ann Arbor (Mich.) Skyline
It was a talented group of underclassmen in attendance on Saturday, headlined by the Spartan's first commit in the 2017 class. Rison, the son of Michigan State great Andre Rison, made his commitment to the Spartans following Saturday's camp. Prior to that he showed the open-field elusiveness and consistent pair of hands that have earned him rave reviews time and time again this off-season after moving from Arizona.
