The Roadies: DMV Elite 7-on-7

Playing from his safety position, Ford does a great job of seeing the field and driving on the ball. He can cover the secondary nearly sideline to sideline. A few times Ford started at one hash mark and was able to cover corner routes on the opposite side of the field. Arizona State, UCLA and Michigan State are a few of Ford's latest offers but Pittsburgh, Michigan, Penn State and West Virginia seem like some of his favorites.
Best Feet
RB D'Andre Swift (2017) | Philadelphia (Pa.) St. Joseph's
There is little doubt Swift is one of the top players in the 2017 class at the running back position but he also played cornerback for the majority of the day on Saturday. Swift could probably play defensive back in college if he focused on the position. As a running back, few players were as effective as Swift in the open field on Saturday. Swift has a long offer sheet and schools like Auburn, West Virginia, Michigan State, Arizona State, North Carolina and South Carolina recently added their names to the list.
Best Hands
RB D'Andre Swift (2017) | Philadelphia (Pa.) St. Joseph's
Swift excels on offense and he was there when his team needed him. Swift ran good routes out of the backfield and made the catch nearly every time the ball was thrown in his direction. Some of his catches weren't very easy. Swift had to stretch for a lot of balls that were either under or over thrown. Look for Swift to visit Georgia this offseason with his team.
Super Standout
ATH Paris Ford (2017) |
Pittsburgh (Pa.) Seton La Salle
No player had as much success on Saturday as Ford. He only let up a handful of completions and none of them were big plays. Ford had his fair share of interceptions but his ability to deny the pass and seemingly be everywhere at once was special. Ohio State, Florida and Florida State are close to offering.
Raised Stock
DB Therran Coleman | Pittsburgh (Pa.) Brashear
Indiana, Arizona State, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Massachusetts, and Toledo are the only schools to offer Coleman so far but more offers are definitely on the way. Fans counted seven interceptions for Coleman before they lost track. His instincts, physicality and ball skills were very impressive. Coleman also has the ability to turn and run with receivers after they break his press coverage.
Underclassman Achievement
LB Kenny Robinson (2017) | Pittsburgh (Pa.) University Prep
Without a doubt, Robinson was the best linebacker on Saturday. His instincts have improved and his ability to anticipate the play set him apart from the rest. Robinson plays wide receiver and quarterback for his high school but with his frame and current size, his future is at linebacker. West Virginia, Cincinnati, Temple and Toledo have already extended offers but is sounds like an offer from Pittsburgh would put the Panthers high on his list.
Best Arm
QB Erik Taylor |
Pittsburgh (Pa.) North Catholic
Taylor has an absolute cannon. The receivers on his team excel at deep routes and Taylor has the arm to consistently throw it up for them. He also fit the ball into tight windows across the middle of the field. Taylor is still working for his first offer.
Most Accurate
QB Kasim Hill (2017) | Baltimore (Md.) Gilman School
Hill has been on the scene for a while now and holds offers from Syracuse, Michigan State and Boston College. On Saturday he did a very good job of putting the ball where only his receiver could make the catch and delivering the ball on time in tight windows. Hill showed that he could drop the ball in for his receivers on deep routes and made sure to lead them enough.
