Thornton looked the part. He put in his work at linebacker instead of defensive end and he definitely left a strong impression. He has a long wingspan and he is lean. He was quick to catch attention before he ever took a rep.
Fastest
RB Eno Benjamin | Wylie (Texas) Wylie East
I don't know if he was the fastest, but he was plenty fast. He was able to get the best of several defenders who tried to match up man-on-man. His burst allows him to gain quick separation and hit the hole low and hard.
Best feet
CB Raleigh Texada | Frisco (Texas) Centennial
Texada was on his game. Even when he got turned around he was able to regain his composure and find his man and make a play. He stays balanced and his footwork is quick and light. He always seemed to be in position to make a play.
Best arm
DQB Shawn Robinson | Denton (Texas) Guyer (2017)
Robinson's arm was the best of the bunch. He does not have a problem in the strength department and his spiral is tight. He has no problem cutting through a stiff breeze to get the ball where it needs to be.
Top underclassman
OT Darrell Simpson | Justin (Texas) Northwest (2018)
Simpson is a work in progress but at 6-foot-7 and 320 pounds there is a lot to like. He is light on his feet and he is flexible. He is able to get down and maintain good pad level. As his strength and technique progress he will be one to watch.
