The Roadies: Bullis-Good Counsel

Johnson is a great two-way player, but excelled on defense Thursday evening. From his safety position, Johnson did a good job of quickly coming up on balls thrown in front of him and turning and running when he needed to. On one play when the defense was backed up in their own end zone, Johnson baited the quarterback into throwing an interception in the corner of the end zone and made sure to get his feet down inbounds. Johnson has visits coming up to Rutgers and North Carolina.
Super Standout
QB Dwayne Haskins Jr., Potomac (Md.) Bullis School
Haskins has not competed very much since he committed to Maryland a few weeks ago, but he has not lost a step. On Thursday evening, he made good decisions with the ball, was very accurate and showed a little more mobility than he has in the past. Haskins threw the ball with touch when needed and was also able to fit it in small windows if the situation called for it.
Raised Stock
LB Ayinde Eley, Olney (Md.) Good Counsel (2017)
Eley is just starting to pick up offers and he proved he is worthy of more. He is a very rangy 6-foot-5 and is only 205 pounds, so there is plenty of room for him to fill out. Eley did a good job in coverage and had a few pass breakups. Iowa, North Carolina and Syracuse were smart to offer him early.
Underclassmen Achievement
ATH Damani Neal, Potomac (Md.) Bullis School (2017)
Neal has been on the scene for a while now and has been improving his game each time we see him. He covers a ton of ground and, despite being on the shorter side at 6-feet, does very well in jump-ball situations. Neal, whose most recent offer is from Penn State, is very physical with receivers that come into his area and flies to the ball when it is in the air.
Best Arm
QB Dwayne Haskins Jr., Potomac (Md.) Bullis School
There was no doubt Haskins was the best quarterback on the field. The Maryland commit's great mechanics, accuracy and arm strength were easy to see. There were a few plays where the receiver's initial route was covered and he had to turn and run down field while Haskins was rolling out to his left. With a flick of his wrist and while off balance, Haskins launched the ball 45 yards.
Sleeper Alert
WR Zack Hawkins, Potomac (Md.) Bullis School
Hawkins could play wide receiver or defensive back at the next level. On the offensive side, he gets off the line well and does a good job of catching with his hands instead of his body. Defensively, Hawkins' great assets are his speed and length. If he can get a good read on the ball, there is a very good chance he could come down with an interception.
