The Roadies: Baylor Camp

Williams turned plenty of heads with his play. He showed off his speed on more than one occasion and was able to get the best of each and every player he went against. He speed was on full display and he showed excellent burst as he came out of his break to make several plays on the football.
Physical Specimen
OT Anthonie Thomas | Houston (Texas) Madison
Thomas is 6-foot-7 and checks in at over 300 pounds. He is a mountain. He was also very quick to draw attention. Before the first drill, he was the topic of conversation. He definitely looked the part. Once drills began he showed tremendous improvement in his footwork and he was one of the top offensive linemen on hand.
Best Feet
WR Camron Buckley (2017) |
Cedar Hill (Texas)
If there was a guy capable of shaking up his opponent, it was Buckley. The Cedar Hill standout showed off his quickness as he came off the line. He had the stutter step, the ability to change directions at the drop of a hat, and the ability to lose defenders down to a science. He used his fancy feet to keep everyone on their toes.
.
Best Arm
PQB Ty Brock (2017) |
College Station (Tex.)
There were a few quarterbacks who could have received the nod for the biggest arm. Brock put the ball down the field with plenty of zip and accuracy. The ball pops out of the hands of the 6-foot-3, 175-pound quarterback, and he put some very good velocity on his passes.
Underclassman Achievement
ATH Jamyest Williams (2017) | Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer
Jamyest Williams sent a buzz through camp with everyone talking about his big day. He made play after play at cornerback. He is not the biggest at 5-11, 172, but he has a stout build, he likes to get physical, and he is cat quick. He was all over the place and not even the quickest receivers could create the separation needed to prevent him from closing on the play.
Best Hands
RB Dominique Williams (2017) | Round Rock (Texas) Stony Point
Williams went all out in one-on-ones and he made a few acrobatic receptions. He did a great job positioning himself to make the grab, showed excellent body control, and then he put his strong hands on display as he made the grab to finish the play. His ability to make the tough catch made him an easy choice for the best hands of the camp.
