This past recruiting season in the Class of 2004, five-star linebacker Willie Williams earned the nickname “The Predator.” There is a Florida linebacker in the Class of 2005 that wants to claim that nickname for himself. Meet Ft. Pierce (Fla.) St. Lucie West Centennial outside linebacker Jamar Chaney.
Chaney (6-foot-1, 215 pounds) has been clocked at 4.6-seconds in the 40-yard dash, has a 285-pound bench-press and a 605-pound squat. Those physical stats, along with 82 solo tackles, 38 assists, 22 tackles for a loss and six sacks has already drawn letters from Miami, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma and FAU.
He plans to camp this summer at FAU.
“I’m going pick a school basked upon the education,” he said. “I also want to look at the overall athletic program, the environment and what type of support they offer when it comes to Fellowship of Christian athletes.”
So why does Chaney want to earn the nickname The Predator?
“It comes down to one word,” he said. “I’m a playmaker. Tell Willie Williams that The Predator Part II is coming soon to a field near you.”
