The latest w/ R100 DB Lewis

It looks as though Rivals100 defensive back Marcus Lewis' recruitment is nearing an end. The Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga stand out announced that Kentucky, Miami and Washington State are his top three choices.

Kentucky- "I'm taking my official visit out there on Friday," said the 6-foot, 194-pound Lewis. "My in-home visit with the coaches was good. They've been recruiting me really hard. I talk to coach Mainord, coach Ansley and coach Stoops almost every day. Things are really good with them. I'm expecting to see a little bit more of the campus. This visit is really for my mom because she didn't get a chance to go down last time I went. She wants to talk with coach Stoops and meet with the academic people."

Miami- "My official visit to Miami will be on January 16," he said. "I've seen a lot already down there because I visited already. I'm going down there so that I can meet with the coaches a little bit more and so that way my mom can see everything too. Coach Golden did my in-home visit earlier this week. They said I could be an instant impact guy. They have a lot of older guys down there right now and it's just a good fit for me on the field and with my personality."

Washington State- "Coach Leach was here for my in-home visit earlier this week also," Lewis said. "It went great and my mom loves him. A lot of players look at some of the bigger schools but when I went on my visit I was actually surprised. It's really nice out there with their facilities and everything. It's one of the top schools that I've been to and I've seen a lot of schools. It seems like a great place to go and if I were to go there I would be an instant impact guy."

Lewis is shooting to have a decision made within a month or so.

"If I don't announce at the Under Armour All-America Game I'll do it a week or two right after that," he said.

Lewis has cancelled his official visit to Ole Miss but it seems a bit strange that his official visit to Miami could occur after he has already made a commitment.

"I'll have already seen Miami," said Lewis. "I'm already seen most of these schools a couple times. I've been to Kentucky a couple times and I heard he took my official visit to Washington State."

Lewis was previously committed to Virginia Tech and Florida.
