The latest on Rey Maualuga

While attending a three way passing league match-up featuring Long Beach Poly, Los Alamitos and St. Bonaventure, we bumped in to Eureka (Calif.) linebacker Rey Maualuga who is actually spending the entire summer with St. Bonny head coach Jon Mack.
"I've been coming out here the last three summers to train," Maualuga said. "I work out with the team and it's always great for my conditioning and strength training."

Maualuga, who weighed in at the NorCal Nike camp at 6-3, 253 pounds and looked a little heavy said he's now back down to 240, which is what he weighed at an earlier combine.
"I tried to get bigger for the Nike Camp so my speed would look more impressive," Maualuga said. "I'm more comfortable at 240 and feel really good right now. My hamstring is getting a lot better. I'm not 100% yet but I'm getting there."
On the recruiting front, Maualuga said he has now set his first two official visits and is in no hurry to make a decision.
"I'm going to Nebraska (Sept. 3) and Oklahoma (Sept. 17)," Maualuga said. "I don't have any other visits set right now and I'm not sure how many trips I'll take. I don't have a timeline of when I'll make my decision, just whenever it feels right. USC is still my top school but I'm not in any hurry to commit somewhere."
