The latest on Adrian McCovey

Lakewood (Calif.) linebacker Adrian McCovey was expecting to take an official visit to UCLA this past weekend. The talented athlete had to cancel however after it was found out he needed an Algebra class and he'll find out this week if he's able to get a waiver on that.
McCovey, 6-4, 215 pounds has taken official visits to Oklahoma, Oregon State and Arizona and was supposed to be in Westwood this weekend.

"They called me and said I was missing an Algebra class," McCovey said. "At first, they said I needed to make it up in summer school. I didn't want to do that though because basically, I would have to sign with them, then take the summer school class and if I didn't pass it, I would be left out in the dark without any options.
"So they came back and said there's a chance I could get a waiver for it since I have enough math requirements already. I was told they're going to talk about it this week and get back to me. I really didn't get the feeling that there was a good chance or a bad chance of it happening, with me getting the waiver. They just told me they would get back to me on it so hopefully it works out. If not, it's still cool, I have some other schools I'm looking at.
"I was supposed to visit Oregon but my wallet was stolen and I needed it to get on the plane. This is the second time this has happened, I lost my wallet before the Califlorida Bowl too. If I don't visit UCLA next week, I'll probably visit Oregon. Miami is still there too but I owe Oregon a visit and that's where I think I'll trip if the UCLA deal falls through."
