Rivals caught up with Harrisburg (Pa.) Bishop McDevitt head coach Jeff Weachter to get the latest on his three uncommitted players who have all been quiet in recent week leading up to Signing Day.
The biggest recruit out at Bishop McDevitt is five-star running back LeSean McCoy who has suddenly dropped from site. It appears he is still debating between Penn State and Virginia Tech.
"I haven't been able to talk to LeSean since December," he said. "He has kept me out of the loop because he doesn't want me to comment on anything related to his recruitment. I have no idea when he plans to make a decision or what's going on with him. I hear he's going to Milford, but I haven't been able to talk to him about it."
Meanwhile, Weachter did know more about what's going on with Rivals250 defensive tackle Jason Kates.
"Jason took an official to Syracuse before Christmas and told me it was ok, but he's pretty quiet and that's about all you'll get out of him," he said. "I know he's also headed to Maryland this weekend and has talked about setting up two more of his visits to Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame or North Carolina State."
Rumor has circulated recently that Notre Dame may have pulled their offer from Kates, but Weachter couldn't confirm that news. He did however say that it doesn't appear Kates is leaning towards anyone at this time. Weachter expects Kates to make a decision right before Signing Day.
Four-star cornerback Aaron Berry took his second official visit to Pittsburgh last weekend. How did he like it?
"I have only seen Aaron in passing around school because I don't teach seniors, but he told me it was a good visit," he said. "I know he has pushed back his trip to Michigan State a week to January 20th because no one was going to be on campus this weekend.
"I still believe it's down to Michigan State, Minnesota and Pittsburgh and he'll probably have a decision pretty soon after his trip to East Lansing."
