The Freak thinking it over
While Tustin, Calif., tight end Chris Barrett is focusing on a state championship, recruiters are beginning to focus on him. The weekly parade of recruiters has already commenced for the big man they call The Freak.
“Oregon, USC, and Florida are all scheduled to visit me this week,” Barrett said. “And LSU is supposed to drop by next week some time.”

Barrett maintains a six school list, claiming that all the schools are on equal standing. However, if he had to choose five visits today, he would have a quick answer.
“Well, I wouldn’t visit Tennessee,” Barrett said. “The visits are important because right now, I want to see how the schools are campus wise, and with academics. That will be important in my decision.
“I still have Oregon and Florida on the same weekends, and I now have USC on January 17.”
Barrett says he is being recruited as a jumbo athlete, at tight end and defensive end.
“I like playing defense better, defensive end,” he said.
