The Big Three in Florida Offer 2019 OL Wanya Morris
THE LATEST: In recruiting terms; offensive tackle Wanya Morris is blowing up. The 6-foot-5, 265 pound offensive tackle out of Loganville (Ga.) Grayson has picked up half a dozen offers in 2017 from Alabama, Auburn, LSU, and the big three in the Sunshine State — Florida, Florida State and Miami.
Morris is a sophomore with size and great upside. He picked up his first offer from Syracuse in November. He added a few offers after that late in 2016, but early in 2017, Morris is starting to draw attention from top programs in the South.
He spent time in Florida recently with a group of teammates and each school he visited offered him a scholarship. He shares his thoughts on the Gators, Seminoles and Hurricanes.
IN HIS OWN WORDS: "Getting offers from each of these schools feels great," said Morris. "I got the offers from all in just a couple of days, so it was pretty exciting for me. All the offers were surprises, but I was hearing from Miami a good bit out of the three, so that one didn't shock me. If I had to say which offer surprised me the most, it would have to be a tie between Florida and Florida State.
"At Florida, it was very beautiful, colorful and somewhere I would be happy to live. I could really see myself there. I liked the coaches and it was a good visit.
"I really liked the people and the coaches at Florida State too. It was nice there in Tallahassee and it is a place that I could see myself raising a family. They showed us around and it is a great school.
"Miami is lit. It is hard to say much more than that about Miami. There are so many things to do, they have a lot of history there and the coaches really interacted a lot with me, so I liked that."
RIVALS REACTION: Morris is loving the attention like any other recruit his age would, but he is taking these visits seriously. He is paying attention to the details and how the coaches talk and interact with him. He really spoke highly of his time with the Florida and Florida State staffs. The first school out of his mouth when asked if any schools stand out was Florida. It is early, but if there is a school that is trending for Morris, it is likely the Gators.
