If there is one thing the west coast is known for, it is its quarterbacks. From the state of Washington on down to California the west produces more than their share of signal callers.

The number one quarterback from the western class of 2004 at the present time is Rocky HindsClick The season of 2002 was loaded at the quarterback position, though 2003 doesn’t have the big name star quality of the previous year, by season’s end once again, the west will produce its share of D-I quarterbacks.Here to view this Link. How many 6-foot-4, 225-pound guys do you know who run the 100-meter in 10.4? You know one now and his name is Rocky Hinds. Hinds is so athletically gifted that he conjures up visions of Michael Vick.
Hinds threw for 1,642 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior. He also proved to be a considerable threat to run the football racking up 495 rushing yards and while scoring five touchdowns on the ground.
Hinds was League Offensive Player of the Year and first-team all-league for his efforts as a junior.
The number two rated quarterback on the west coast has a name with a familiar ring to Pac10 fans. He is Matthew TuiasosopoClick Hinds has over 25 offers to date, including his current top four schools of USC, UCLA, Washington and Notre Dame.Here to view this Link. Tuiasosopo is the younger brother of former Washington Husky great Marques Tuiasosopo now with the Oakland Raiders and is the son of former UCLA Bruin and Seattle Seahawk standout Manu Tuiasosopo.
Schools aren’t making the same mistake twice. The Huskies were able to land older brother Marques because they wanted him as a quarterback while other schools wanted Marques as an athlete.
The younger Tuiasosopo is being recruited as a quarterback. He’s also an outstanding baseball player who may get drafted by major league baseball.
Tuiasosopo didn’t exactly have the stats that make recruitneks light up message boards over but there is a reason for that. He only played in five games as a junior, passing for around 700 yards and eight touchdowns.
Like his brother Marques, the younger Tuiasosopo is a dangerous runner. He ran for over 500 yards and scored eight touchdowns.
Tuiasosopo lists UCLA, USC, Washington, Stanford and Notre Dame as his top five schools. All have offered except Notre Dame.
