Texas WR no longer a secret

One of the best kept secrets in the Lone Star State is no longer a secret.
Corey Fuller of La Vernia, Texas, is a 6-foot-5, 212-pound receiver/defensive end racked up all-district honors in 2006 and was getting plenty of recruiting attention from the college coaches. That was until he made up his mind and made a commitment late last week.

"I'm heading to SMU," said Fuller, who had 20 receptions for 500 yards and eight scores in 2006. "I went up to their elite junior camp, and I fell in love with their campus. It was beautiful. The business school is really good, too. I liked the football and how the environment felt right."
Fuller is a pretty significant recruiting victory for the Ponies. He was also offered scholarships by Rice, North Texas, UTEP and most recently TCU. Fuller said the TCU coaches told him they weren't going to give up on him.
"TCU wants me to switch and play for them," Fuller said. "They're trying to get my off my commitment. I'm committed to SMU, but it's never officially closed until February. SMU was my first offer, but then Rice offered, then North Texas, UTEP and then TCU."
Fuller could easily project on both sides of the ball, but he said SMU wanted him on offense.
"They want me as an outside receiver and a tight end," he said. "I like that a lot. That role fits me perfectly."
Fuller said he would describe his playing style as tough and rugged.
"I got all out on every play," he said. "I'm a smash-mouth player. I'm a head-knocker, too."
There were other school very interested in Fuller. In the month of May he received calls also from Baylor, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Kansas and Vanderbilt. Fuller does have a 3.25 grade-point average and has already scored a 1210 on the SAT.
